Photoshoot tips

Our shoots are themed so that each shoot is different - no need to take pictures in your daily clothes - I am sure you take plenty of selfies or pictures in the mirror in those clothes.

• No need to purchase new outfits for each shoot - borrow from family/friends, or check out the thrift stores.  Dig in Mom's closet!

• Choose an outfit that will match the designated theme.  I suggest bringing 2 outfits minimum.

• Don't forget to incorporate different necklines, textures, and fabrics in your selection. Consider layering your outfits. 

• Plan your outfits ahead of time to avoid the stress of choosing them the night before. Don’t forget to actually try the outfits on, too, so you can see how the pieces work together.

• After you’re finished trying on your clothes, remove the wrinkles with an iron or steamer, and place them on a hanger so they are ready to go! 

Photoshoots require a bit more makeup than you would wear day to day.  Experiment with colors to match your outfit or the theme.  I also suggest wearing different hair styles to the shoots so your pictures do not always look the same.

Even if you don't normally wear makeup, mascara and concealer are great ways to highlight your natural beauty. At the bare minimum, you should bring chapstick with you to keep your lips hydrated. 

Madzie Squd shoots are a time to experiment and think out of the box.  Try new things :).

It’s always a good idea to bring makeup or have oil-absorbing sheets on hand for some extra touch-ups before you get in front of the camera.  

Give yourself plenty of time to get ready for each shoot so you are not rushed and stressed.  Come to each shoot in a good mood - your mood will reflect in your pictures. Pack a comb or hairbrush and any necessary make-up for last-minute touch-ups.  Bring some snacks and a water bottle, and always arrive on time.
